Rep. Sewell’s statement on Trump Administration’s rescission of funding freeze

“The Trump Administration has shown its hand, and we must remain vigilant,” Sewell said.

Rep. Terri Sewell

U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell, AL-07, released the following statement after the Trump Administration rescinded its Office of Management and Budget memo freezing nearly all federal grants and loans:

“After 24 hours of chaos, the Trump Administration has rescinded its reckless and illegal memo calling for a freeze on federal funding. While we may have won this battle today, to be clear, President Trump’s executive orders remain in place that could withhold critical federal funding from our communities. The Trump Administration has shown its hand, and we must remain vigilant against future attempts to take away vital federal dollars. I will continue to defend the lives and livelihoods of Alabama families and the American people.”

Congresswoman Sewell represents Alabama’s 7th Congressional District.
