The Alabama Forestry Association, AFA, announced Monday its endorsement of Garrett Dixon for Alabama House District 38 and Cindy Myrex for Alabama House District 12.
“AFA is proud to endorse both Garrett and Cindy in these upcoming special elections,” said Chris Isaacson, AFA president and CEO. “Both candidates have principles that that align with what we believe. Both know the importance of the forest industry in their counties and we look forward to their voices being heard in the State House.”
Dixon is a cotton and peanut farmer and has been a lifelong resident of House District 38. He is a graduate of Smiths Station High School and Auburn University. He and his wife, Robin, have two children.
“In Alabama, the forestry industry is alive and well, and the Alabama Forestry Association has played a huge part in the industry’s success,” said Dixon. “I am grateful to have the endorsement of ForestPAC for House District 38. As a farmer and sixth-generation timber owner, I know what it takes to make a living off the land, and I will always fight to make life easier, not harder, for our state’s timber industry.”
The special primary election for Dixon for House District 38 will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.
Myrex is a lifelong resident of Cullman County. She is a real estate agent in the Smith Lake and Cullman area. She has been married for 38 years to her husband Ricky.
“I’m honored to have the support of the Alabama Forestry Association,” said Cindy Myrex. “Forestry is vital to our economy and way of life here in Cullman and across Alabama. I will stand strong for our landowners, small businesses, and the conservative values that make our communities strong.”
The special general election for Myrex for House District 12 will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
