U.S. Representative Terri Sewell, D-Alabama, announced that she will host her 15th annual job fair at Wallace Community College Selma on Thursday, August 6.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and bring together employers from across Alabama looking to fill open positions.
“Since coming to Congress, bringing jobs and economic opportunities directly to the people of Alabama’s 7th Congressional District has been my top priority,” Sewell said. “That’s why our annual job fair is one of the most important events we host all year. I’m especially excited to bring this year’s event back to my hometown of Selma, where job seekers from across the Black Belt will have the opportunity to connect directly with employers, explore new opportunities and take the next step in their career journey.”
Now in its 15th year, Sewell’s annual job fair has connected thousands of job seekers with employers and career resources. Sewell alternates between urban and rural communities each year to ensure constituents throughout Alabama’s 7th Congressional District have access to employment opportunities.
This year’s event will include employers from automotive; restaurant and food management; transportation and construction; hospitality and retail; health services; utilities and telecommunications; manufacturing and production; staffing agencies; government agencies; and law enforcement. Sewell’s office will announce a full list of participating employers later.
The job fair is free and open to the public. Sewell’s office encourages preregistration, but will accept walk-ins. Constituents can preregister at Sewell.House.gov/JobFair.
Wallace Community College Selma is located at 3000 Earl Goodwin Parkway, Selma, Alabama 36701.
