Rep. Ford Responds to Death of Former State Senator “Walking” Wendell Mitchell

From the Office of House Minority Leader Craig Ford

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Senator Mitchell’s family as we share in their grief and loss. Everyone who had the privilege of serving with Senator Mitchell feels the pain of his absence – and not just from the legislature. Senator Mitchell was a statesman above all else, and he always put the needs of the people back home ahead of politics. He served the people of Alabama the way they were meant to be served, and because of that he will always be a source of inspiration for me.”

Representative Ford is a Democrat from Gadsden and the Minority Leader of the State House of Representatives.  He has served in the Alabama House of Representatives since 2000.  In 2010, Representative Ford was elected House Minority Leader by the House Democratic Caucus.
