Lt. Gov. Ivey to Chair Alabama GOP Delegation to Tampa Convention

Montgomery, AL – Lt. Governor Kay Ivey was elected Chairman of the Alabama Delegation to the Republican National Convention this morning.  Ivey served as Chairman of Governor Mitt Romney’s Campaign in Alabama. She was elected at a delegation meeting in Montgomery. Lt. Gov. Ivey is the first woman to lead the Alabama Delegation as Chairman at the National Convention.  Upon her election, Lt. Gov. Ivey said, ” I’m honored and humbled that delegates throughout Alabama have elected me to serve as their Chairman. Our delegation is unified and focused on a common goal: to do all in our power to elect Gov. Mitt Romney as the next President of the United States.”  Ivey continued, “We had a spirited primary season and I’m so pleased Republicans all over our Great State are now coming together with a renewed commitment to take back the White House.” The Republican National Convention will be held the week of August 27-30 in Tampa, Florida.
