The Alabama Democratic Party is ready to accept candidates for the 2022 election cycle.

ADP announced on its website and in a press release Monday that the candidate qualifying period will begin at 9 a.m. on Dec. 6. The qualifying period will close on Jan. 28.

For the first time ever, all candidates can qualify online at aldemocrats.org.

The qualifying period for Democrats is nearly a month earlier than the Jan. 4 opening for state Republicans. Both parties close on the 28th.

Qualifying instructions for both Democrats and Republicans can be found at the respective party websites.
