Manufacture Alabama announced Wednesday that it has endorsed U.S. Representative Gary Palmer, R-Alabama, for reelection to the U.S. House. Palmer is running in the special primary election for Alabama’s 6th Congressional District on Tuesday, August 11.
“Congressman Palmer has been a consistent advocate for Alabama’s manufacturers,” Manufacture Alabama President and CEO Jon Barganier said. “He understands the importance of maintaining a strong business climate through regulatory certainty, competitive tax policy, workforce development and reliable infrastructure. His proven leadership is widely respected both in Alabama and Washington, D.C., and his time in Congress has helped ensure manufacturers are in the best position for continued job growth and further investments.”
“I’m proud to have the endorsement of Manufacture Alabama heading into August 11,” Palmer said. “Alabama manufacturers don’t ask for much. They want a level playing field, reliable energy, and a government that stays out of their way. That’s exactly what I’ve fought for in Washington and exactly what I’ll keep fighting for. Their jobs are real. Their investments are real. And my commitment to them is real.”
Manufacture Alabama said in a press release that Palmer “has built a strong record of supporting policies that promote economic growth, strengthen domestic manufacturing and encourage private sector investment.”
The association said he has worked to “reduce unnecessary regulations, support energy reliability and advocate for a competitive environment that allows manufacturers and the general business community to succeed.”
Palmer joins former U.S. Representative Jerry Carl, a candidate in Alabama’s 1st Congressional District, and state Representative Rhett Marques, a candidate in the 2nd Congressional District, among Manufacture Alabama’s endorsed candidates in the August 11 special primary election.
