Democracy requires accepting defeat

Democracy depends not only on choosing leaders but on accepting lawful defeat when voters choose someone else peacefully and honestly.

Democracy cannot survive if every election produces a winner but no one is willing to lose.

Candidates have every right to demand accurate counts, challenge irregularities and pursue lawful remedies. But election integrity also requires accepting honest answers when the evidence is examined, the courts have ruled and the process has reached its end.
