The Alabama Forestry Association (AFA) announced its endorsement of Travis Hendrix for Alabama House District 55 which covers a portion of Jefferson County.

Hendrix was born and raised in Ensley, Alabama. He attended Ensley High School and went on  to earn his bachelor’s degree from Miles College. Hendrix continued his education by earning a  master’s degree from Oakland City University.

“We are pleased to endorse Travis for House District 55,” said Chris Isaacson, President and  CEO of AFA. “His commitment to public service in his community aligns with our ideals. He  understands the value of hard work and we look forward to his service in the Alabama  Legislature.”

Being a law enforcement officer, Hendrix is passionate about public safety. He serves as a school  resource officer and is on a task force dedicated to the public housing community.

“I’m honored to have the support of the Alabama Forestry Association,” said Hendrix. “Forests  are instrumental in stabilizing our environment and have a very significant impact on our  economy. As a legislator, I will fight to preserve and promote this essential industry, the wildlife  it supports, and the people who drive it forward.”
