U.S. Representative Barry Moore is closing out the final hours before Tuesday’s Republican U.S. Senate primary with the backing of President Donald Trump, who is scheduled to headline a statewide telephone rally Monday evening.
According to Moore’s campaign, Trump will participate in a “tel-e-rally” at 7 p.m. Central time in support of Moore’s Senate bid. Campaign officials said hundreds of thousands of Alabamians are expected to join the call as Trump speaks directly to Republican voters ahead of Election Day.
Voters can participate in the rally by calling 833-746-0072 at 7 p.m. Central time.
The event marks the latest show of support from Trump for Moore in what has become one of Alabama’s closely watched Republican primary contests. Earlier this month, Trump described Moore as “a Fantastic guy and a totally reliable MAGA Warrior!”
Moore said the rally underscores the campaign’s closing message to conservative voters across the state.
“Our campaign is finishing strong, and there’s no better way to close than how it all began—standing with President Trump,” Moore said. “I have the most conservative record in the race. My values are Alabama’s values. I’m grateful for the president’s support and the support of Alabama conservatives from Mobile to Muscle Shoals.”
Moore, who represents Alabama’s 1st Congressional District, has aligned himself closely with Trump throughout the campaign, emphasizing conservative positions on immigration, federal spending and cultural issues as he seeks to consolidate Republican primary voters.
Trump’s involvement could prove significant in a state where his endorsement continues to carry substantial influence among Republican voters. The Monday night rally comes as campaigns make their final push to drive turnout before polls open Tuesday.
