By Susan Britt
Alabama Political Reporter

MONTGOMERY—According to reports, Bob Gambacurta, 71, was found dead on his kitchen floor in Montgomery on Tuesday evening. Children playing in the neighborhood reported seeing him to their parents, who called the Montgomery Police Department. MPD says that they do not suspect foul play, and that the death was most likely from natural causes. A coroner’s report has yet to be released. Those close to Gambacurta suspect he suffered a stroke, noting that he had been experiencing health problems over the last few months.

Gambacurta was well known for his political reporting and commentary. Most recently he was a co-host on the morning talk show “Good Morning Montgomery” and a columnist for Inside Alabama Politics. He also served as Press Secretary to former Governor Fob James.
