U.S. Senator Katie Britt, R-Ala., extended her congratulations today to the newly elected Senate Republican Leadership for the 119th Congress. The leadership team was elected Wednesday as Senate Republicans solidified their direction following the recent election cycle.

“Last week, Republicans received a mandate with a trifecta of President Trump’s dominant victory, retaking the Senate, and holding the House,” Senator Britt remarked. “Today, Senate Republicans came together and are united behind our new Senate leadership in the 119th Congress. I was especially honored to nominate Senator Tom Cotton for Republican Conference Chair during our meeting. Our conference is eager to advance President Trump’s agenda for American families. I’m confident we will achieve commonsense solutions and put America back on track.”

The newly elected leadership team includes Majority Leader John Thune of South Dakota, Majority Whip John Barrasso of Wyoming, Republican Conference Chair Tom Cotton of Arkansas, Republican Policy Committee Chair Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia, Republican Conference Vice Chair James Lankford of Oklahoma, and National Republican Senatorial Committee Chair Tim Scott of South Carolina.

With these positions confirmed, Senate Republicans have signaled a commitment to advancing key policies in alignment with President Trump’s priorities, aiming to address issues for American families in the new congressional term.
