With the May 19 primary approaching, Jeremy Devito announced a Huntsville town hall featuring an open mic, community speakers and a food drive.

Alabama District 5 congressional candidate Jeremy Devito Devito campaign

Jeremy Devito, a Democratic candidate for Alabama’s 5th Congressional District, announced this week that he will host “A Town Hall for Y’all of Us” on Monday, May 4, at Shenanigans Comedy Theatre in Huntsville. The event will run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

“The town hall is built around one idea: let the people talk,” Devito said in a press release.

An open mic will allow attendees to share concerns, ask Devito questions directly and speak with their neighbors about the issues that matter most to them.

“This isn’t a scripted event—it’s a conversation,” Devito said in the release.

The event also will feature guest speakers from the community, a mutual aid food drive benefiting the Shenanigans food pantry and concessions for purchase from the venue.

“Come as you are. Bring a friend. Bring a question. Bring a can of food,” Devito said in the release.

With three weeks until the May 19 Democratic primary, Devito said he is continuing to take his campaign directly to voters.
