Congressional candidate Lee McInnis. McInnis for Congress

Lee McInnis, a candidate for U.S. House District 3, will host an open town hall discussion Thursday, July 9, at the Pell City Municipal Complex.

The event is intended as a listening session for residents of St. Clair and surrounding counties to share their priorities, concerns and vision for their next U.S. representative.

The program will begin with introductory presentations from local candidates, including Angela Morgan, a candidate for the State Board of Education, Place 6; Alan Thomas, a candidate for Alabama House District 50; and Donald Mottern, a candidate for Alabama Senate District 11. After the brief updates, the floor will open to community members.

“Our strategy is built on ‘Managing By Walking About,’” McInnis said. “That means prioritizing face-to-face conversations with regular citizens in informal settings, rather than behind closed doors with high-dollar donors and power brokers.”

During opening remarks, Thomas will provide a breakdown of major legislation passed during the recent 2026 Legislative Session, highlighting the local impacts of Senate Bill 197, Senate Bill 71 and House Bill 475/Senate Bill 360.

Organizers said neighbors of all political affiliations, backgrounds and viewpoints are welcome to attend.

“The evening’s core goal is to foster an environment of respectful listening, mutual learning, and community collaboration,” the press release for the event stated.
